About

My Studio Practice

Influenced by nature, the artwork I produce documents the process by which plant life infests ceramic objects. I aim to capture the beauty of the original vessel and its gradual decline in function as its features mutate into living flora. The symbols of nature resemble those of turkey tail mushrooms, flower petals, and various lichens. This type of natural representation is essential to me, as I grew up in the forests of the Hudson River Valley in New York, surrounded by the beauty and sublime of the landscape.
